Nintendo do good
For once 2
pieces of good news for European gamers in a row! With all the
recent crackdowns on Importers by the big N, many fans, including
myself, have started to get increasingly dishearted with them.
You can read my view over here , but anyway, having put so much pressure on
importers not to carry their stuff, they finally seem to be doing
something right by giving us neglected Europeans a
little more support.
No this doesn't come in the form of actual advertising but
following Crystal Chronicles being released fairly soon after the
Japanese launch, Nintendo have confirmed that the E reader will
indeed be launched over here, after much rumour and wondering.
It may not be a main stream item that we're missing, for instance a game like Animal Crossing, (which we're still waiting on by the way any Nintendo employees reading this!!) but it does show progress.
For those who dont know, the e-Reader is an attachment which fits into the cartridge slot, then allows you to download games onto your GBA by swiping a series of cards through it. Its been around in Japan for a while now and we'll finally be able to get our hands on one in early November.
Launch titles will include Donkey Kong-e, Excitebike-e, Mario Bros-e, Pokemon-e and Tennis-e. These will be followed up by Balloon Fight-e in December and Soccer-e, Urban Champion-e, Ice Hockey-e, Ice Climber-e, F1-e, Volley Ball-e, Golf-e and Pinball-e in early 2004.
Some of those are definately tempting me, I admit i'm being a bad news hound and i dont know what kinda price they'll be released at, I cant imagine much though. But with Excitebike, one of my favourite Nes games as a little kid, coming out, I'm definately gonna try and get my hands on one.
