Fuel Powers Pcs?
Not as crazy as it sounds either
Japanese electronic wizards NEC work on a fuel cell for notebook computers that will last for up to 40 hours.
It may sound more like a lawnmower than a laptop, but NEC are busy building a fuel cell powered by methanol. Approximately 300cc (about half a pint) of the fuel is gradually broken down into oxygen and hydrogen, producing heat and power as by-products of the reaction.
With current technology the pack will last about five hours, but they predict that by 2006 a single charge will keep your machine running for up to 40 hours.
