Part 2
Okay, so now you know about the series in basic. But why exactly is a farming sim, well, successful. Like i said, first time i heard about the game, i thought on the one hand it'll never make it out of Japan (i was sorta right..and no offense, but Japanese do like a lot of games that would seem weird to us, its a fact) and secondly, how exactly is Harvesting and working on a farm fun, and of course third, how'd they get the idea accepted!?
Well Natsume have worked a little wonder with this idea. There is an actual story behind it, giving you a challenge and a goal to shoot for, something that can often make the most boring thing playable, because you want to succeed. Also you dont have to simply plow your field and grow crops. Its completely upto you how you live your 'life' , you can spend your days adventuring out in the fields, hunting for berries and other such things that'll gain you money, you can be a meat farmer or a crop farmer, and another objective is to marry someone nice, so you can of course spend your time chatting up and tempting one or all of the girls there are available.
Starting to see now why its fun?
Theres also many different endings on all the various Harvest Moon games, depending how you lead your life you will see a different ending. Like if you leave the farm to rot, you'll be booted out and stuff, or you will get a nice happy ending with your wife, a millionaires ending if your really successful, maybe you went through more tahn one wife..this'll gain you another ending. So theres that sense of accomplishment when you play the game in different ways, its not the same old thing every time.
Thats all the things i can think of at the moment, admittedly it does sound boring, i will conceed that, but like a lot of sims, when they are well made, they are incredibly addictive. Once you pick it up, you wont be able to put it down
